Today we had a meeting of full council: a double bill as we also had to get through the business of the January meeting which had to be called off due to snow. The big item on the agenda was the approval of our budget for the coming year. It was quite a challenge to keep our tax rise to just 1%, freeze charges and make provision for the expected cuts in government funding next year. Our band D charge for next year will be just £124.80 so, not surprisingly, nobody voted against it! Once again we had a lively public question time. It’s good to see so many people taking an interest in District affairs.
